“Navy Rescue Swimmer”
My husband served 20 years in the Navy as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. He flew a variety of missions and accumulated over 3000 hours of flight time. He was involved in 2 separate rescues at sea. One rescue involved a helicopter crash and the other was the rescue of a sailor who had fallen overboard. He also was also a crew member/gunner in a Helicopter Visit Board Search and Seizure of an Iraqi merchant ship in the Northern Arabian Gulf. He also served 3 tours on the ground in Iraq with Naval Special Warfare earning 2 Bronze Stars. All of this and he is a dedicated volunteer in the community in which we live. He was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for continuous service to the community. He was also a High School Football coach at two area High Schools. He would be so proud and honored to give his favorite charity (K9's for warriors) a check. He has many friends who suffer from PTSD ad this would mean a lot to him. This charity is also a win-win as they train dogs that come from animal shelters for use as service dogs for veterans. Thank you for everything you are doing!
